One of the largest councils in the UK contracted Infotech to undertake
a project that involved the conversion of spatial data and loading
the converted data into the Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG).
To create LLPG, Ordnance Survey Land Line data, Property Intelligence
address list files, definitive street index and maintenance area
definition maps were used.
The volume of the project involved the conversion of 3,100 Streets,
160,000 Properties (175,000 Basic Land and Property Units or BLPUs
), 130,000 residential properties, 10,000 commercial/industrial
properties, 263 maintenance area definition map tiles at 1:1250,
54 maintenance area definition plans of council estates as well
as the Parks and open spaces plan.
Infotech developed the Basic Land and Property Unit for the Streets,
Properties and Land Parcels. In line with client requirements, the
final deliverables were supplied in MID format for loading on the
target GIS system.
