| Our client is a full-service geomatics firm based out of Canada
providing traditional photogrammetric, topographic, Planimetric
and cadastral mapping, in addition to digital orthophoto production,
geographic information systems field surveying, and consulting engineering
services. The client requirement was for high quality, cost-effective
softcopy photogrammetry services.
Responding to the customer's need for large volumes of highly accurate
data with planimetry feature capture, map updating and map finishing,
Infotech created a dedicated Center of Excellence and developed
a multi-step semi-automated process.
Infotech set up the project using customer supplied air trigged
setup files in Intergraph SSK format. The symbols were defined for
all the features as per the required specifications. 1:600 scale
photography was used to derive the positionally accurate plan features
along with the DEM to generate contours at selected intervals such
as 1 feet, 2 feet etc. Infotech achieved absolute positional accuracy
of 1.5 feet and vertical accuracy of 0.7 feet.
By exceeding the client's expectations in terms of data quality
and delivery schedules, Infotech continues to receive repeat business
and has now completed around 20,000 models covering several US counties.
