| Our client is one of the largest counties in Washington, USA.
The project requirement was to develop a parcel level land base
with COGO techniques for the clients GIS functional requirement.
Since the parcel data and other essential information were available
in variety of sources, data integration was a significant aspect
in creating the accurate COGO parcel mapping.
Infotech's task in the project involved the conversion of parcels,
Street centerlines and miscellaneous boundaries utilizing coordinate
geometry techniques for the development of a land base to cover
the geographical extents of the county.
Mylar and prepped map images were registered to the PLSS grid.
The Graphic features, attribution and annotation from the Mylar
and Prepped images were captured in MGE. Subsequently, a coverage
(RECDNET) comprising most of the features was created during the
digitization of the data. This coverage was the result of converting
the data from MGE to Arc Station. STREETNET coverage was generated
from RECDNET.
Similarly, for another City in the County approximately 40-50 %
of the parcels were created through COGO. The data is crosschecked
with the Mylar maps and the missing line work was created. This
project was done for 79 townships, where each township contained
36 sections and each section had a section map or four-quarter section
maps.
The client was extremely happy with the quality of the work done.
