powerful products in routing, mobile applications on multi platforms
and serve across industries worldwide. The client offers the single
most comprehensive source of map data and real time traffic content
that is designed to deliver the highest quality and accuracy to
mission critical applications.
Infotech has been assisting the client for the creation of data
sets that involved Street Mapping for the various cities of North
America and Canada. The Project involved creation, development and
maintenance of the entire US street network, Address Geocoding;
Data for real time traffic feed for location based applications.
The aim was to make the GIS database the most comprehensive and
powerful map database.
Infotech's tasks involved the capturing of street & rail network
and also assign attributes in the client's proprietary software
for entire North America using DOQQ/USGS Quads and DOT maps. The
TIGER database was used to update Address information and get high
match rate while Geocoding. The project also included traffic incident
location and path updates that can be accessed over a voice-activated
system in 71 metropolitan areas from client and metro networks.
The creation of data sets included capturing/repositioning the
Centerlines, split roads, curled-sac roads, overpasses, ramps, bridges
and tunnels of Road network, Rivers, canals and ponds of Water network,
park features and Rail network with latest imageries.
Infotech's proactive approach and commitment to the quality and
on-time delivery, made the impact and the customer was very happy
with the results and that resulted in voluminous repeat orders.
