Infotech Enterprises Ltd. associates invented a unique design in partnership with Otis Elevators for heavy-duty 100 kilo Newton and above elevators. The unique design will be a part of the next generation High Rise elevators. Infotech Enterprises has been working with Otis for more than two years for the development of this unique design. The associates were recognized and appreciated by Otis elevators. The new design will eliminate the extra space occupied by the traditional elevators creating the next generation room-less elevators. The new design forms a part of “ Next Generation High Rise Room-less elevators. Room-less Elevators are designed utilizing Coated Steel Belt Technology eliminating the machine room on top floor of the building occupied by traditional rope elevators The design team consisting of six engineers from Infotech and two from Otis invented this design using “coated-steel belt” technology. The team from
India includes Dr. K. Raghavan, Mr. Vijai Mohan, Mr.Ch. Laxmipathi, Mr. K.P.Pavan Kumar, Mr. Shailendra Singh and Mr. K. Saravana Kumar. The major part of the design, development and testing was completed in India. Tensile tests, Strain gauge test & destructive test were conducted on pre-prototypes at a test facility in India.
